Learning to be an engineer
(both in studio and live settings), I've learned how to work
on various consoles & with Pro-Tools as a recorder and a mixer.
On the consoles I learned to record to tape and setup outboard
gear. My mastering has been through
Pro-Tools and outboard gear.
I feel that the talents and
skills I have cultivated while in school are best put toward
an assistant engineer position or post-production work. I
collaborated with others when it came to organizing mics and
inputs, setting up consoles, and putting together audio projects
on a timely schedule. I've matured in my organizational skills
and with keeping meticulous notes on recordings, track sheets,
and input sheets.
I focused a lot of my time
on learning how to record ADR and foley in the school's foley
pits. I was also able to refine my skills in sound selection
when using sound banks and the placement and mixing of those
sounds.
